TRAVEL BEFORE THE WEDDING

Dumfries is the nearest large town and easily accessible by train from from Carlisle if travelling from London or elsewhere in England. From here you can get a connecting bus or taxi to the venue or accommodation. 
​
To travel to Thornhill and Dabton from most places in Scotland, it is easier to go drive than go by public transport. Dabton House is a roughly 1h30m drive from Edinbrugh, and a 1h15m drive from Glasgow.

TRAVEL ON THE DAY

We are hoping to provide transport for most guests staying in the immediate area for the full day, this includes to the ceremony and at the end of the night.

ACCOMMODATION

There are eight holiday cottages on the neighbouring Drumlanrig Estate that have been block booked for our wedding weekend. See here.

If you would like to book one of these cottages, please do not book via their website, but let us know. We have secured a reduced rate and you will be able to book through us.

There are plenty of other self catering options in the surrounding area.

If you would prefer to stay in a hotel, we recommend the following, both within a 10 minute drive of Dabton House:
